Forestation

Our Attempts at Forestry

Native tree saplings are raised and then planted in urban areas, wastelands, towns, abandoned private property, places affected by fire, government and private buildings, and locations adjacent to streams that eventually become forests. In addition, we work on plantation drives, urban forestry, and landscaping projects. We work to preserve the environment, cut carbon emissions, and promote reforestation. We take care of the trees that are surviving despite all odds in addition to planting new ones.

Trees that Feed

Fruit forests are a forager’s paradise and a vital component of biodiversity. The trees give shade, and the fruits are nutrient-dense. In all open spaces, backyards, and private properties in urban and peri-urban areas, we establish pocket fruit forests. Many insects, birds, and mammals have excellent habitats in these woodlands. Without endangering the wildlife, locals can gather the produce and use it for their livelihood.

City Forestry

In order to improve the aesthetic value of urban centers and to improve the quality of the air, we cultivate trees and other plants on both publicly and privately owned land surrounding urban areas, roadside avenues, green belts, and even recreational parks. As they develop, the trees will immediately sequester carbon dioxide as biomass from their leaves and wood. In the dense urban forest, birds, butterflies, honey bees, and a few small mammals will find food and a place to live. The entire community will benefit from a healthier city thanks to the urban forest. The planting of a variety of trees will increase the area’s resistance to illnesses and pests, ensuring the general wellbeing of those who reside there.

Zones for Green Charging

Green Zone is viewed as a thriving neighborhood with environmentally friendly business practices, a better environment, and a resurgent green future. These areas are designed to consider more than just the community’s general health and environment. The green spaces can be used as a test bed for environmentally friendly practices. Such Zones will make recreational activities accessible, enhance air quality, cut GHG emissions, and bring people closer to nature.

Verdant Garden Design

To create healthy recreational areas, green landscapes support wildlife and plant life while lowering pollution in the air, soil, and water. We favor native landscaping plants because they are more cost-effective, time- and energy-efficient, and are naturally adapted to the local environment. We make an effort to recycle concrete fragments, bricks, stones, and glass rather than purchasing new materials for green landscaping. For fencing and decks, we select recycled plastics or materials that have been sustainably harvested.

Green Workplaces

In addition to taking community and cultural sensitivity into account, we design green offices to ensure resource efficiency and environmental responsibility. To ensure clear indoor air quality, we use non-toxic, ethical, and sustainable materials. The indoor space is replicated with flower pots and vertical green walls to enhance the property’s aesthetic appeal. Green offices are built with recycled materials whenever possible with the intention of lowering pollution, preserving energy, and fostering a healthy atmosphere.

Give or Plant a Tree

Everyone has the opportunity to use trees as a gifting and remembering symbol. “Plant a tree for every occasion to celebrate.” The tree you give will flourish alongside its recipient. This commitment will last a lifetime, just like your relationship with them. We will plant the tree for you, or you can plant it yourself. Our group will ensure the survival of the recently planted saplings by providing them with care and nurturing. We see to it that those who perish are replaced.

Bringing Back Grass

The Ezhil Vanam Foundation facilitates the rebirth of forests and trees following damaging events such as wildfires, careless pruning, severe droughts, and flooding. Experts and volunteers assist in the restoration of the current urban vegetation. We plant native plants that are appropriate for the area and enlist the assistance of the local community to increase the amount of greenery. Through our reforestation efforts, we facilitate ecological succession in this way.
